The journey of Building Clixsy mirrors my own journey as an Entrepreneur. Early on, I had to find what drove me personally.
I didn’t lose sleep over failure. I’d already done a lot of that, and truthfully I think it’s a key ingredient to success. No, what terrified me was that one day my kids would look back on my life and see me as that entrepreneur who always struggled, and success was always “just around the corner”. My worst nightmare was that I’d never arrive and they’d pity me.
For their sake, it meant more to me that I succeed because I was the first generation in my family to be an entrepreneur and break away from doing things “as they’d always been done”. I HAD To succeed so they would see that they can. Using this motivation as fuel, I wanted to not only succeed but ensure no other entrepreneur suffered the same fate.
In the past 10 years, Will Pettet and I have grown Clixsy rapidly. Growing 30% year over year 4 years in a row and employing over 30 people, changing the lives of our team members, and our clients through a combination of hard work, innovation and frankly having a higher “GIVE A DAMN” than the average Agency.
Our very first client was a Bankruptcy Lawyer, and one of my proudest accomplishments was making that small Firm so busy they had to hire more people. When Will and I stood back and realized that we’d not only changed our own trajectory but also had impacted 3 families! The Attorneys and the Families of the two individuals She hired because we’d increased her business. It changed us.
That spirit of changing lives through entrepreneurship and hard work is Clixsy’s ethos and is why when we say “we do one thing, take market share from your competition and give it to you” you can know that we’ll die on that hill. It means more than just a paycheck to us. It defines us.
During my time with Clixsy, I’ve worked with some of the largest Trial & Injury Firms in the nation including The Richard Harris Law Firm, 1800BADDRUG.com, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, Hughes & Coleman, and many others. Early in our careers Will and I helped launch 3 books with Stephen Covey, Sean Covey, and the Franklin Covey Education Division. The 3rd Alternative was Stephen’s final book before he passed, and we were fortunate to be able to work in proximity with their team on that project. I’ve managed over 15 Million Dollars in Digital Ad Spend for Trial Firms and can say that more often than not, we’ve achieved a cost per case under $1500 (often under $1000). Our Clients have been with Clixsy for an average of 5 years and counting. Some including the aforementioned Richard Harris Law Firm who was Clixsy’s very first Injury Law Client continues to work with us today, 9 years later!
In addition to working with Trial and Injury Firms, Clixsy has expanded into a very niche area of reputation management and crisis PR. Through this work, I’ve been able to consult with numerous Billionaires, Fortune 500’s, Politicians, and Ivy League Schools on various projects relating to online branding and reputation. What you can always count on with us is our word, our work ethic, and our candor. Our internal mission is Results, Relationship, & Reporting – we’re always accountable to those values and to our clients. This is what makes Clixsy what it is today.
